CFC-FFL COMMUNITY PRAYER 2018

Great and Almighty God, you are our Father in heaven, and you destine us to be as you are, as you call us to holiness and perfection. You set us as priests in our homes, and we offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to you.

Lord Jesus, we are your body on earth, a people of your own. You give us to each other as brethren and co-workers, caring for and loving each other and building up our community. Help us to grow in authentic servanthood as we renew the family and serve your Church.

Holy Spirit, you send us forth to proclaim the good news of salvation in Jesus. We are your holy warriors. Continue to equip and strengthen us, empower us to overcome the enemy, and let us bring your righteousness to the ends of the earth.

Triune God, we belong to you. We are nothing apart from you. But in you and with you and through you, we are destined for greatness. Send us forth, not to be high and mighty, but to be low and lowly. May all the glory be yours, now and forever.

Mother Mary, your soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, and the Mighty One has done great things for you. As your beloved children, lead us along the right paths, until we attain to the greatness that is our destiny.

Amen.

Canada Won't Fund Student Summer Jobs Unless Employers Support Abortion

by Lianne Laurence
OTTAWA, December 14, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – The Liberal government of Justin Trudeau will ban any employer from receiving summer job grants for students if the employer doesn't first sign an “attestation” that they agree with abortion and transgender "rights." The new criteria were sent to all MPs and will be made public when the Canada Summer Jobs Program officially opens December 19, 2017. URGENT: Tell Justin Trudeau you oppose this attack on freedom of conscience. Sign the petition! Click here.

Canada Demands Pro-abortion, Pro-LGBT Loyalty Oath for Businesses

December 15, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – The tolerance of Justin Trudeau and his progressive government has struck again, just in time for Christmas and this time, it comes in the form of a demand that any organization seeking to apply for funding from the Canada Summer Jobs Program first give an “attestation” that they support an entire laundry list of far-left causes, including abortion, transgenderism, and the redefinition of marriage. This new ideological purity test will automatically exclude millions of Canadian Christians, Jews, Sikhs, and Muslimsessentially, anyone who differs from the government position on any “progressive” cause.

Stand up to gay "marriage" bullies, says Australian archbishop

 AND NEW COMMUNITIES

SYDNEY, Australia, July 15, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) -- Archbishop Anthony Fisher of Sydney denounced efforts to "bully" Australians into accepting same-sex "marriage", as efforts to legalize it there ramp up in the wake of similar capitulations in the United States and Ireland.

Speaking to a packed congregation at a July 12 annual Marriage Mass, the archbishop said "powerful forces" are "determined to silence any opposition" and "bully" us all into accepting the deconstruction and redefinition of a fundamental institution."

Marriage is a "comprehensive bodily, psychological and spiritual union between a man and a woman whereby they become "one flesh" and so found a family," Fisher told his listeners, who included some 30 couples celebrating 50 and more years of marriage.

And it brings together "man and woman, sex and love, love and babies, parents and children."

"To say this is not to criticize anyone," he stated, adding that "we know and love others with same-sex attraction, who understandably want their friendships to last and be honoured," as well as people whose marriages have failed, or who cannot bear children.

Marriage, Fisher stated, also bears witness to "our God-given mission to love not just with a self-serving, romantic, heart-shaped Valentine"s Day sort of love, but with a self-giving, redemptive, cross-shaped Easter Day sort of love."

The prelate may have been taking a swipe with these words at the current Australian Marriage Equality campaign to legalize same-sex "marriage", which shows supporters holding their hands in a heart shape - which is also AME's logo.

Fisher's strong stance underscores the battle over same-sex "marriage" now roiling Australia, with AME claiming support of 442 organizations, 65 MPs and 37 senators and media accounts claiming public support of 70 percent.

The Australian Catholic Bishops' Conference May 28 pastoral letter "Don't Mess With Marriage" was protested by some parents and in some Catholic schools, with a few Sydney students lighting the letter on fire, reports Catholic News Service.

There also appears to be political brinksmanship around the issue, with Labor Party opposition leader Bill Shorten introducing a bill to legalize same-sex "marriage" on June 1, and Buzzfeed reporting June 30 that two Liberal backbenchers plan to co-sponsor a cross-party private member's bill August 11 - evidently news to Shorten.

Liberal Prime Minister Tony Abbott is expected to face increasing pressure when MPs return to the House August 10 to allow a vote on legalizing same-sex "marriage."

A Catholic opposed to homosexual "marriage," Abbott must contend with lobbying both by the libertarian faction in his party and by his own sister, who is engaged to a woman, according to Reuters.

As Archbishop Fisher noted in his homily, "voices in our culture write off as benighted and bigoted those who stand by marriage as traditionally understood." "Real marriage illuminates our understanding of the Christ-to-Church relationship," Fisher said. "In turn, it strengthens our resolve to support marriages, so they really can be faithful, fruitful, final unions of people of opposite sex, while also supporting and loving people in other situations too."

Archbishop Fisher's homily can be read here.

WHO WE ARE, WHAT WE DO

Through all of our 29 years, we have spoken much of our vision and mission, who we are, what we are called to do. We know that we are an evangelistic and missionary community. This has been true from the very beginning and has never changed. We do our work within the context of family renewal. That is one distinct factor that distinguishes us from other renewal movements.

Books and Magazines

The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. The Eucharist is the greatest gift God gives to His people. The Eucharist is our path to holiness and Christian perfection. The Eucharist is crucial to our work of the New Evangelization. We must have greater understanding and appreciation of the Eucharist, so that we can go forth and truly be effective witnesses to salvation in Jesus.

Servant leadership is crucial to our work of building up community and of doing a massive work of evangelization. Unfortunately, many who are leaders in our Church today may not have the heart of a servant. But Jesus, our Lord and Master, came not to be served but to serve. He is our main model.
